Online shop on NopCommerce for a sushi restaurant chain

About the client

The client is a chain of sushi restaurants with several stores in Denmark. Its customers order online.

Objective

The chain sold through an online shop on NopCommerce. The standard platform did not cover its new campaigns, its new products or its growth plans. It also lacked a loyalty system, gift card management and a limit on orders at peak hours. Each campaign waited for changes the standard shop could not make.

What we built

The product is the chain’s online shop on NopCommerce, extended with plugins and widgets. Customers order food, buy gift cards and collect loyalty discounts. The chain’s staff manage campaigns, events and customer feedback from the admin panel. One .NET/C# developer has worked on the platform for more than 22 months.

Campaigns, gift cards and loyalty

• Built NopCommerce plugins for customer feedback, campaigns, gift cards and events. Each one has an admin interface and a customer interface.
• Added a widget that assigns a PDF template to each gift card product. The chain sells personalised gift cards this way.
• Created a widget that applies discounts from a customer’s activity. The discount needs no manual step.

Orders, delivery and tax reporting

• Set a limit on the number of orders at peak hours. Notifications guide the customer through the order within the time limit.
• Wrote a shipping plugin for the delivery provider Lastlap.
• Built a plugin that reports orders to the Danish Tax Agency as SAF-T XML. Danish tax rules require this report.
• Connected the shop to third-party sellers such as dailys.dk, so the chain runs campaigns with their products.

Result

The platform is in production. One developer has worked on it for more than 22 months (client data) and the work continues. The shop reports orders to the Danish Tax Agency in SAF-T XML. The order limit at peak hours is live. The client reports higher sales and more satisfied customers; it has not shared a figure.
