Cross-platform recruitment app for an HR company in Belgium

About the client

The client is a Belgian IT company. It builds software and support services for the human resources market and automates document management. One of its customers is an HR company with regional offices.

Objective

The HR company runs regional offices all over Belgium, and each one costs money. The client wanted a mobile app with which candidates find vacancies and talk to an office. The goal was to lower the operating costs of the offices.

What we built

The product is a cross-platform mobile app for job candidates and office staff. A candidate searches vacancies, keeps a profile and chats with an office. The team is one project manager and business analyst, two Angular developers and one manual tester. It has worked on the app for more than five years. The app is Angular 4 with Ionic, with a C# backend on Microsoft Azure.

Vacancies and profile

• Built the vacancy search with filters by location and by function.
• Added a candidate profile, so the office matches the candidate to a vacancy.
• Added a timeline with each exchange between the candidate and the office.
• Connected Branch.io for deep links. A shared vacancy opens inside the app on either platform.

Chat, chatbot and notifications

• Built the chat on Twilio. The office employee and the candidate each manage the conversation from their side.
• Wrote a chatbot with two flows, one for registered users and one for unregistered users.
• Registered devices and sent push notifications through Firebase on the Azure services the client asked for.

Result

The app is in active development. The same team has worked on it for more than 5 years (client data). The regional offices of the HR company across Belgium use it (client data). The chatbot runs 2 flows, for registered and for unregistered users (client data). We continue the development.
